SUMMARY:(PIN)OCCHIO: The Soul's Journey
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to present the show PINOCCHIO (THE BEGINNING OF THE JOURNEY) by ORLAND VERDÚ\, a dreamlike and gestural theater piece that is capable of transporting us to a world of fantasy while also offering a profound reflection on freedom. The show premiered in Valencia on Saturday\, January 21st at the Teatro Cervantes in Petrer\, and we hope it is just the beginning of its journey. Our company is officially registered with the Spanish Theater Network. We take this opportunity to introduce you to this original PINOCCHIO\, which goes far beyond being just a show and becomes the emotional oracle of the 21st century\, beyond post-truth and lies. This work is a large-scale version of the original show premiered in Berlin at the AMALGAM Festival and performed at the Teatre ORACLES in Barcelona for three seasons. Orland Verdú\, winner of the Sagunto City Theater Award and the Evarist Garcia Award from the Alicante Provincial Council\, offers us on this occasion a dreamlike and gestural theater piece inspired by Pinocchio\, which raises questions about manipulation and the spiritual longing for freedom. Inspired by the universal character of Chaplin\, the visual iconoclasm of Pasolini\, and the exquisite dance of Kazuo Ohno\, our PINOCCHIO returns to the most true essence of being: the body. And thus\, without words and through movement\, we are transported to a tale full of contemporary adventures and challenges\, where war\, politics\, and mass media are tests that Pinocchio will have to experience in order to discover his humanity and learn to distinguish truth from lies. After the Sunday\, 18th show\, we will have a special celebration moment to pay tribute to Orland and his career\, raising a toast with a cava of honor.
