Liadland
March 2 @ 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Liad is a musician, an artist, a perpetual migrant,
a queer trash diva, and a master of the margins.
Liad lives in Liadland, physically in Berlin, but
emotionally located between continents, places
she’s lived in, and where her heart lies. She
brings electro-bootielicious beats with Arab influ
–
ence as a homage to her homeland, sassy flows,
a bold sexy attitude and the revolution itself in her
lyrics. Her inspirations range from classic hiphop,
punky d.i.y. 90’s movements, and queer culture.
Her songs give voice to intersectionally-marginal
–
ized misfits, creating a space to call for a revolu
–
tion, celebrate life, and mourn.
Liadland’s upcoming album, NOTHING TO DE
–
CLARE is set for release in April 2024 and is pro
–
duced by Hanno Stecher aka Kalpour. It’s a refer
–
ence to her lifetime of being a political activist
with a big mouth. It’s also a signifier of crossing
borders between nations, between identities, be
–
tween worlds, and trying to contain all of these
realities and transitions within oneself.
Liad’s history of political work in Palestine and
Europe inspired her kamikaze-style interventions,
queer/burlesque shows, and performances. Fo
–
cusing on Palestine freedom, sex workers’ rights
and the queer liberation movement, she show
–
cased in Europe’s biggest performance festivals:
Impustanz/Vienna, City of Women/Ljubljana,
Sommerfestival/Hamburg, and the 10

ennale. Her performative methodologies create a
space where those considered as sexual or politi
–
cal deviants can feel seen. Through displaying
vulnerabilities, using her body, sexuality and
voice, she brings this onstage experience into the
world of music.
